An Opportunity To Give Back

We homeowners are fortunate, to live where we do. Living in houses means that we don't have to hear loud neighbors walking on our apartment ceilings or being loud directly on the other side of a wall. We have the ability to more quickly have any plumbing, structural, electrical or environmental issues addressed. We don't have to wait for long periods of time to get such things checked out or fixed.
As home dwellers, we have the freedom to cut down bushes, trim tree limbs, plant flowers and gardens. We can usually wash our cars or play basketball in our driveways, paint the inside or outside walls, put in a swing set or tend to our flower beds as we see fit.
For the most part, Tulsa is a very safe place to live. There is outstanding fire, medical & police protection here. There are many parks, trails & events in the area. Stores and restaurants are also very short drives from home. If we lived in the country or a small town, our journeys could take up to hours to find all of the shopping options we enjoy. There are too many advantages in the area to remember them all.
Many of us have attentive Home Owners Associations who maintain & to some extent guide our neighborhoods to high levels of standards. The HOA's are made up of people just like you and me. They care about where they live and who they live near. Lots of work goes on behind the scenes in HOA's. Most of it is not difficult but can be time consuming once in a while. With more hands, heads and hearts involved, these tasks can be made lighter.
In a measure of gratitude, all of us can pitch in even a little bit of time to help out. Joining our HOA's is a great way to meet wonderful people, brighten aspects of several people's lives, make a positive difference in the world and get a sense of satisfaction in a job well done.
In spite of all that is going on in the world, let us not forget the major events that led us here. D-Day was fought by thousands of brave men. They were prayed over by millions at home. This is a little bit of what it was like:

This is a great day to thank a Veteran or Active Duty Member for their service. If not for them, we would not have the freedoms that we enjoy. (Methinks even more freedoms are coming that we didn't know we lacked.)
