400 Years Of Christianity In America

Four hundred years ago this month, Pilgrims arrived off of Plymouth Rock.  They were seeking a land where they could freely worship Jesus.  After finding that land, their ancestors set up governments based on the concept of “doing unto others as you would have them do to you”.  They also experienced great revivals, fought wars to protect freedom around the world, rid their country of African-American slavery and sent missionaries around the world to preach the Word of God.

 Now, many facets of society have worked hard to remove any reminders of Jesus in this country.  He has been banned in many schools, businesses, sporting events and is made fun of in movies and television shows.  His teachings of “loving our neighbors” have been ridiculed for the past 50 years from different sources but loving our neighbors should be our first priority.

 The “war on Christmas” has gone on for at least 10 years.  Now, many states have banned gatherings for Thanksgiving, even within families.  Many churches have been banned from meeting this year while rioters are given free passes to do anything they want (including not wearing a mask).

 According to author C.S. Lewis:  “The greatest evil is conceived and ordered in clean, carpeted warmed and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voices”.

 These days, we need Jesus more than ever!  If you’re a believer, tell people about Him and volunteer to help work for Him.  If you aren’t a believer, now is the best time to commit your life to Him.  No, now!  Not tomorrow, not next week.  Now.
